Typically in the past one usually had to pay premium price for Millett products, especially if you wanted a set of engraved rings.
These bases were a good buy for the price here at Amazon ! While not as finely "sculpted" as Millett products were when they were made here in the US, for under 10.00 you can't beat 'em !
They are currently made in Mexico and close examination reveals some tooling and machining marks that have been blued over. If I was really picky and building something high dollar I suppose it could all be stripped, polished out and reblued if you wanted it perfect.
They went on a Belgian FN Mauser action. When you factor in they are not real visible under the scope and rings, it's a helluva deal. They are solid steel and not soft Asian steel or aluminum.
Plus they only weigh 1.5 ounces a pair. Tolerances are very tight.
